Meadowhawk eating Deer fly
It's pretty clear from my posts that I have a fondness for dragonflies like this female Meadowhawk. They are pretty, will pose for photos and seem to always have a smile on their face. On top of all that, they are very efficient pest exterminators. I noticed this girl had just landed with a snack in her mouth. A close look through the lens revealed the psychedelic eyes of a dreaded Deer fly. So I am indebted to her not only for posing for a picture, but for potentially saving me from a nasty fly bite.
