This photo of a female Eight-spotted skimmer on wood decay fungus was so relentlessly monochromatic that I decided to give it the full black & white treatment via Nik Silver Efex.
This is the first of a couple dozen exposures I took of this scene yesterday morning. I went back to it today and took a couple dozen more trying to improve upon it. Sometimes you just can't recreate the magic of your first encounter with something.
